FAQ
What are lab-grown diamonds and gemstones?
Lab-grown diamonds and gemstones are grown under controlled conditions that recreate how diamonds and gemstones form in nature, just over weeks rather than millions of years. The result is chemically, physically, and visually identical to a mined stone. The only difference is where it was formed.
Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds?
Yes. A lab-grown diamond is a real diamond, not a simulant like cubic zirconia or moissanite. It has the same carbon structure and the same 10/10 hardness rating as a mined diamond. The distinction is origin, not composition.
Why do lab-grown diamonds and gemstones cost less than mined ones?
Growing a stone in a lab removes the cost and time of mining and shortens the supply chain considerably, and that saving is passed on directly. You're paying for the stone and the craftsmanship — not for extraction and a long chain of intermediaries.
Are lab-grown diamonds certified?
Yes, as standard we certify every diamond and gemstone over 1 carat, confirming it's lab-grown and detailing its cut, colour, and clarity.
What materials do you use?
Every piece is set in high-quality 18k or 14k gold, or platinum — the goal is a piece made to be worn for life, not one that tarnishes.
What stones and colours are available beyond white diamonds?
Beyond classic white diamonds, we work with fancy coloured diamonds — including yellow, pink, and blue — as well as lab-grown emeralds, rubies, and sapphires. If you have a specific colour or stone in mind, it doesn't need to exist in a collection already; it can be sourced and set to order.Growing a stone in a lab also means controlling it from the start — not just colour, but cut too. That opens the door to unusual cuts made to order: shapes that would otherwise take months to track down, or come at a premium, if you were relying on finding the right mined stone by chance.
How does the custom design process work, and how long does it take?
Every journey is different:
- You might have a clear idea of exactly what you want
- You might have something you already love and want to adapt slightly
- You might have no fixed idea yet, and want inspiration and guidance
- You might just want to understand the full range of stones and settings before deciding anything
Wherever you start, the process is the same: we develop the design together, you approve a technical drawing, the stone is sourced, and the piece is set. Start to finish, this takes around three weeks — faster and more predictable than sourcing a specific mined stone through a traditional jeweller.
Can I get a completely one-of-a-kind piece, or only a classic style?
Both. You can commission a classic, timeless design, or work with us to create something more unique to you. Every piece is made to order, so there's no fixed stock range to choose from — the starting point is always your idea.
Where is my jewellery made?
Our founder is based in Hong Kong, right at the centre of the world's lab-grown gemstone production, and works directly with the factories in mainland China that hand-make every piece. That means closer oversight of quality at every stage, and it means the cost savings from a shorter, simpler supply chain get passed straight on to you — not swallowed up along the way.
Are lab-grown diamonds becoming the standard choice, not just a trend?
Yes. According to The Knot's 2026 Real Weddings Study, 61% of couples who married in 2025 chose a lab-grown centre stone for their engagement ring, up from just over half the year before. Lab-grown is no longer the alternative option — for most buyers, it's now the default.
